The stars are aligning

By | October 24, 2017

Urban dictionary defines “when the stars align” thusly: “When an unexpected and nearly impossible event takes place. Usually due to pure luck or the divine intervention of God.”

Next week, for possibly one week only, look at this stellar afternoon line-up:

2:15 – !mpossible (BBC1)
3:00 – Tenable (ITV)
4:00 – Tipping Point (ITV)
5:00 – The Chase (ITV)
or 5:15 Pointless (BBC1)

Has there ever been a stronger afternoon of quizzing, where every show is 8/10 or better? Incredible. You can even extend it both ways to Countdown and Eggheads if that is your wont (it’s not mine).

What a time to be alive. And unemployed. Or a student.

It’s been so long since I watched L’eredita I thought Carlo Conti was still hosting it. Still, get well soon!

In November 2014 Carlo Conti was busy with the Sanremo song contest, so he shared hosting duties with Fabrizio Frizzi until 2016. Since the 2016-2017 season Frizzi is the permanent host.
For this week, RAI is airing reruns of the series Don Matteo but L’Eredità will resume next week with Carlo Conti who will host for all November; then Frizzi is expected to return.

Found this on various casting websites for a new CBBC game show called The Last Commanders (previously Fear Falls):

“Children must be between the ages of 10–14 to take part and be able to concentrate for up to an hour. The show takes place over Skype and involves the children and their friends instructing an actor (on set) to solve a series of puzzles and challenges to escape a space station. They would also encourage them to invite 2 or 3 friends to play alongside them.”

Sounds like Knightmare crossed with The Crystal Maze.

Interesting plot. I wonder how it will be recorded. Contestants will head to an external studio whilst the main action happens in the staged area. If it works out it could be quite good. On other news, any wild dates out there for Raven airing. They said Autumn so should be anytime now.
