Outside of Bake Off, the three shows that arguably well outperform in terms of 18-34 appeal the best are Married At First Sight (E4), Taskmaster (C4) and Drag Race UK (BBC3).
Thursdays at 9pm currently consist of Married at First Sight (E4), Taskmaster (C4) and Drag Race UK (BBC3).
MAFS won out in the overnights last night, but these are shows that will absolutely outperform in catch-up so I don’t think anyone will be crying just yet.
But isn’t it slightly ridiculous to have the big young skewing shows all competing in the same timeslot when there’s not much of appeal through the rest of the week? I know MAFS is a stripped affair so is more challenging in this regard (and it’s a nice problem for Channel 4 to have) but is it really wise for broadcast television to cannibalise its own audience in such a fashion?
