Without spoilers does this get much better after Episode 1 as I found it a drag just watching that, even worse they then end the elimination (SMARTPHONES?! REALLY?!) on a ‘cliffhanger’ only for that to be resolved in the first couple of minutes in the next episode with no twist or anything…
Your mileage my vary, is the unsatisfying advice. It gets a bit better, albeit mainly because they get through more than one challenge an episode, but it’s still “what if they made De Mol but artlessly.”
Christ, the second salvo (eps 6-8) is a bit of a chore.
I “binged” the 8 episodes as I had nothing else better to do and yeah…not feeling it really, I don’t need confessionals from the contestants at a table EVERY 30 SECONDS and the challenges just seem to be a case of ‘oh well we won/lost that onto the next one!’, I suspect the viewing experience may be slightly better for the average Netflix viewer who hasn’t seen the same challenges on the international versions produced in a much better way though…
Also the eliminations are just there at any random point and despite the subtitles suggesting DRAMATIC MUSIC I just don’t feel any tension at all and don’t really care about the result whereas I literally experience goosebumps on WIDM / De Mol
