Interesting tactic. Obviously reality imports do quite well (The Traitors, Married At First Sight), not sure how much call there is for this, but I’d rather have it than not, and The Floor UK did really good young demos – far beyond ITV’s usual Saturday/Sunday night quiz fare, so this might be a way to drive them towards ITVX. I do ponder if the first Aussie series might be a better initial fit though.

US Season 5 is currently broadcasting at the moment, and the twist that they’ve added for this season is that whoever has the most duel victories (NOT squares of territory) by the mid-point of the season gets what’s called the ‘Territory Freeze’. That player then cannot be duelled against until everyone else on The Floor has duelled. Everything else remains the same, 3 victories in a row grants the choice of the Time Boost or Category Steal.
They do everything they can to encourage contestants to play on… in a game where playing on is the worst tactic 😉
