The only reason Game Face is the worst ever is because most people’d rather forget that Gamezville existed.

It’s a sad point that both Gamer.tv and Playr both got dropped by Bravo and Gameface is succeeding. I give the channel 2 months.

Both of them had pretty decent runs – and Playr was surely exactly the same as Gamer.tv in all but name anyway, I’d be intrigued to know how much better (if at all) Game Face is actually doing.

The other results from the survey (top host and most desired revival) are here: here. When the survey is conducted at Mecca Bingo’s online site, promoting the admittedly somewhat cleverly thematically designed Blockbusters Bingo, I don’t give it desperately large quantities of credibility. They only offered a choice of five options each time, rather than a free response.

Have any of you guys ever watched G@mers on info tv? You can also watch it on their website. I had a small involvement with the channel that the show first aired on Rapture and G@mers was by far the most popular and well received programme.

The team behind the show have brought it back as a 15 minute show on Information TV, but they pop a lot of content into the mix in that 15 minutes.

They are currently showing a retro special for the next 2 weeks before they move back on to the big Xmas releases.

    plug over lol

Seams like Ginx have not heard about X-League TV whos owners Portland put a lot more time and money into the channel trying to mak it work. They had loads of original content including a gaming debate show and the overall quality was good and that could not make money so doubt Ginx with its 4 new programmes a week will.

I don’t like to talk about Games Network that quickly became slappers with tits when it also failed to make any money.

Games Network had problems from the start. The channel was broadcasted from Italy and they were after English speaking gaming presenters but couldn’t find anyone to stay full time to do the job. Also the channel picture quality was poor for digital satellite. I think the only decent thing they did was having live online gaming every evening before BabeStation took over.

X-League TV knew what they were doing at the time. Shame it could’ve lasted longer.

Violet Berlin & Gaz Top should set something up with their production company. It’s been a good seven years since GamePad 4.

I really enjoyed Xleague.tv in its short tenure. I’d say my fave show was The Match, where they held tournaments of different games such as C&C3, Halo and Mario Strikers.

I’m sure there is a German channel I can access which is dedicated to video gaming, just a matter of finding it. They might as well take lessons from them as I was impressed when I first watched it.

Actually looks like a decent line-up all round, but glad to see Drop back. Hopefully they’ve fixed some of the bigger set problems like the trapdoor size.

Sweet. Me and a friend of mine really wanted to go on TMPD, so if I keep an eye on the usual places, I’ll see about getting an application form.

All but confirmed on BBLB the deal is done with Five with a sudden urge to show us an ode to Bob Righter:

“All the housemates evicted – and the death of Big Brother,
It might be that Bob must move back in with his mother
But fear not dear Bob, we’ll keep you alive,
Big Brother will be back… on the other side.”

I think they’ve been skirting round it for a while, but I largely suspect it’s a done deal and they’re waiting until after UBB has finished before making an announcement.

I really am suprised that Channel Four didn’t write something into the conract with Endemol UK about the show turning up on another network for a set amount of time after the final show on C4.
You read about the so-called ‘Gardening Leave’ factor when channel controllers or commissioning editors move from channel to another, so strange they don’t do it with the actual programmes (although to defeat my own point here, no-one three years ago could have seen RTL bailing out of the UK market again and selling out to a cost cutting porn merchant).

    But, begs some interesting questions..
    1) If Davina goes along, will that effectivly mean she does the clean sweep of hosting shows on all 5 terrestrial networks (I am stuggling with BBC Two – did she guest host Buzzcocks?

    2) Will Channel 4 hang on to the BB archive, and ask Five for a huge fee to show clips from the previous 10 odd years

    3) Any increase running it for 12 weeks anyone? Given how much material it feeds (whether the actual story is true or not) in the Daily Star, wouldn’t be surprised if Dickie Desmond orders it to run for something stupid like from early May to the end of October.

I think it’s been suggested that Desmond would like to make it a longer series (even at 13 weeks, it’s still shorter than most). For me that would kill it completely regrettably, but then it’s not about me.

I’m very intrigued about the rights to the older shows actually. Wouldn’t Endemol own them?

I’d imagine so – it’s usually the production company. Was kind of hoping it wouldn’t be picked up so that old series may be sold on to some channel to air.

I’m so split on whether it should continue or not – pre-BB11 it was definately no, but BB11 has shown when given the TLC it deserves the show is far from dead, but I don’t trust C5 – and Desmond especially – to do it any favours.

Agree with Marty too it’s amazing there wasn’t some kind of lock-out period after it ending – with Pop Idol it was around five years before the rights became available. If C4 weren’t so willing to cut their nose off to spite their face I think they should have been talking to Endemol mid-series considering BB11 was performing relatively well and done a deal to let BB11 continue to the end of this series and to move Ultimate Champion to next year with a lock-out clause preventing anyone else broadcasting the show till 2012. C4 could then have seen how things panned out for them without BB next year and run back to Endemol if necessary.

Also on that note, Ton of Cash looks really good. Like Amazing Race meets Scrapheap Challenge.

Yeah – always liked the look of Tonne of Cash – a simple but effective format and would be an ideal BB replacement for C4, keeping some kind of reality format, but only having it once a week.
