How terifficly exciting – it’s the new series of Strictly. Bruce and Tess will will still do the live shows on Saturdays, Tess and Claudia Winkleman will do the results shows on Sundays, presumably not clashing with The X Factor.

Tonight’s show isn’t live, in fact it was recorded on Wednesday.

The first live episode goes out Friday 1st October.

The beautiful, classy, great dancing strictly has been turned into a glitzy, ‘kiss me quick’ side show. Shame on you. Also the great dancers Ian, Mathew, Brian, Darren have all been sidelined. What a mistake. I feel very sad about what used to be the best show on the box/

One of the problems with last year’s show (which has gone largely unmentioned) is that a lot of the actual rotuines were D-U-Double-L. Losing both Karen and Camilla was most unfortunate since they were THE two professionals who could consistently produce entertaining routines tailored to their partners’ strengths and quirks. They might not have always pleased the traditionalists, but they were always entertaining.
