By | October 3, 2010

Sundays are normally boring of course, but tonight there’s The Cube and The X Factor finalists revealed. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?

The forms for our second BIG PRIZE competition of the year will go up before 10pm hopefully. Good luck!

Edit: And we’re off!

Controversial moment at the end of today’s DOND…

There is simply no denying that Noel was unbelievably selfish.

Selfish isn’t the word I’d use but most of the words I’d like to use aren’t publishable on here.

Bharti deals £21k at 5 box. 50p and £75,000 remain and the Banker offfers the Banker’s Gamble. She has Box 15 and the other is her lucky number 6. Banker throws in a swap but Bharti says No Deal. She would have kept 15.

          Noel swaps the box anyway.

          In 6 – £75,000.
          In 15 – 50p.

Not quite sure why this makes Noel ‘selfish’? Sorry, didn’t watch the show, but from Barry’s detailed summary, it looks as though the player dealt earlier and got a tidy sum for their trouble.
So whether Noel swaps the boxes, turns a somersault, or shoots himself in the eye with a pellet gun, it makes exactly no difference to the outcome.
            Or am I missing something?

The reason everyone is upset is because the player specifically said she wouldn’t swap. Noel swapped the boxes, opened the other box to reveal the £75k and the audience moaned as if the player had sold a box too cheap when in fact she sold a 50p for £21k (which was the most she would have got out the game).

Noel might as well have said “well if you’d not have picked box X with the £250k, left it to the end and swapped it, you could have won £250k)”. (Well not quite but it was as hypothetically a series of events as what he did at the end)

A lot of people online seem to think the xfactor twist is….

a 5th category with rejects and judged by Sharon or Nicole.

I personally think they will switch the judges.

A fifth category would make sense since they don’t quite have enough acts to fit into all the weeks left in the year before the usual prep time for the Xmas number 1.

PS even was upset- he said he drove home in silence and couldn’t sleep the night he taped that episode per his twitter…

RATING: Yesterday’s CUBE managed 6 million viewers.

A record high rating for the show. Surely it will be recommissioned with those kinds of ratings?

Yes. I would be surprised if it wasn’t recomissioned, shall we say.

Also over 14m for The X Factor, so all in all a good night for ITV1 really. Downton Abbey almost got 9m.
