How to write about The X Factor Final without revealing spoilers

Well done to the winner. However, will the loser’s live perfomance winner’s song get released on downloads as I thought that was much better?

Also, we normally get the phone vote breakdown, but will we also get a download breakdown this time round? Even if it’s only in percentages because they probably didn’t sell all that well, or something.

It’s rather irrelevant but I did predict the X-Factor winner from week 1 (but I guess a lot of people would have done)

About 75% of managers had the winner down from week 1 as it turned out.

Hopefully i’ll be able to run it next time without tragedy.

And only 3 weeks out of the first 9 did the act with the lowest vote leave. The 2 statistics that fuel the conspiray theorists are that not surprisingly, Cher did poll less votes than Mary last week and the week of Cheryl’s refusal to vote, Katie polled less votes than Treyc and would have left if it had gone to deadlock.

Wagner was always two/one steps away from the sing off (and certain doom). A really sucessful campaign there.

TAR announced their new season premiere date on their finale- 2/20/11, and they’re calling it “The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business”- because none of the former teams that are making up this All-Star Race won their season (3 of the teams were runners-up). They are from Seasons 12-17, with the exception of Season 13. The list isn’t official yet, but reliable sources have the list as follows:

    Gary & Mallory (6th place, S17)
    Amanda & Kris (8th place, S14)
    Kisha & Jen (4th place, S14)
    Zev & Justin (9th place, S15)
Flight Time & Big Easy (4th place, S15)
    Jaime & Cara (2nd place, S14)
    Margie & Luke (3rd place, S14)
    Ronald & Christina (2nd place, S12)
    Mel & Mike (6th place, S14)
    Kynt & Vyxsin (5th place, S12)
    Jet & Cord (2nd place, S16)

For Fantasy X Factor, Matt, Rebecca, One Direction and Cheryl was the best squad overall, giving a perfect game (all four elements, Matt for 40 and 100 loser bonuses) of 317 points.

As for my workplace competition (using the same rules as BB had), the win bonuses for the nine teams were: the top two overall went for Matt for 40, two more switched to Matt for 16 (that was me) and 12 points (that was team Kabaddi – if the win bonus was 40 and not 12, that would be a tie – what would the tie-breaker be?), one went for Cher (for 40) and four went for Rebecca (for 40, 40, 40 and 36 points)

Penguins of Death made no changes, while my team leaked the most change penalties with 15 points. Team Kabaddi and The Iron Man shared most loser bonuses with 56 points each. (You’re In United recorded 53 points), while Big Guns got just 29 in this category.

    And the final scores:
    You’re In United 260 points
    Broken down by week: 30 31 20 20 28 15 22 19 23 12, plus a win bonus of 40
    Team Vickie 243
Team Kabaddi [that was an original BB team] 232
    Penguins of Death 207
Hertfordshire Häcon Haters [my team] 201
    Big Guns 196
    The Iron Man 195
Catch Me If You Can 186
    Potato of Happiness 181

And with no money in this tourney, the ‘bragging rights’ went to You’re In United, whose manager succeeded in convincing the other players that he did not have Matt as winner! (Of course, as scorekeeper I knew different, but I was not prepared to spill the truth until the very end.) Roll on next year.
