Those pen pics on the BBC Press Release website are also photoshopped to a pixel of their lives as well.

On some of them, it’s making some candidates out to appear to be some kind of grey washed out superhero in a business suit.

Edit: Sorry, I’ve just updated WordPress and wanted to make sure everything works. As you were.

Watching The Voice. Sorta wishing I wasn’t. I’ll confess upfront that I really have low tolerance for singing/talent shows, but I just can’t see how this show is going to work in the end. I’ve had some friends talk about the show, and they like the gimmick of the judges not seeing the contestants “because it means ugly people have a chance,” but funnily enough, it still seems like the same producer-picked batch of camera-friendly contestants.

Also, what’s the appeal going to be after these blind auditions are now over? It’s not like these contestants’ appearances are going to be a secret to anyone anymore. It’s just Idol again, or perhaps with the “teams” concept, X-Fac.

Oh, and as a former music ed major with perfect pitch, it’s reeeeeeeally hard not to reach for the remote (and throw it at the TV) when I hear certain acts going through. Actually, the fact that these coaches are picking their teams just by voice alone pisses me off more, because some of their selections really have crappy voices. I know I’m sorta begging for Joe to retaliate, but I’m sorry, I just can’t bring myself to watch this show again. If it’s any consolation, I’ll reiterate that I’ve never been a fan of singing/talent shows, this just doesn’t do anything to warm me back up to the genre.
