Sorry everyone

By | March 3, 2012

I appear to have developed a stomach bug and as such have no energy to do anything. BSOP round 5 will still happen tomorrow night, the planned feature on Game of Life may be postponed, we’ll see how I feel tomorrow. As you were.

Challenge has picked up the archived right to air Win, Lose or Draw! Late from next Saturday at 11pm. Two episodes every Saturday night.

They already have a programme where muppetts interview celebrities – it’s called The One Show.

I know Weaver lurks here, so wanted to pick up on an error in the Week this week (that doesn’t appear to be down to the usual irony) – Ortis Deley can easily appear on Let’s Dance for Sport Relief on Friday, as he was canned from Channel 4’s athletics coverage long ago following last year’s embarrassment – he’s going nowhere near Turkey.

Question for the floor: did any Millionaire contestants ever openly ask the audience not to vote for one or more particular answers before using the eponymous lifeline?

Not that I can recall but we’ve had over 1,000 contestants using that lifeline. Many have said “I’ve think it’s A/B/C/D but I’ll ask the audience” and the answer they said they think turns out to be the most popular.

I know a few people have used Phone a Friend and didn’t give them all the choices available.

Let me take you back to the third night of the first series of WWTBAM? in the US: 18th August 1999. According to Jeremy Soria’s recap at the time, contestant Norman “Trip” Payne, who was (and may still be?) a crossword constructor and is generally known to be a smart ocokie on all matters game- and puzzle- like, may have at least come close.
