An unusual timeslot for a celebrity reality show, but hey, why not.

It’s Celebrity Camping basically by the sounds of it, they’ll have to make their own shelter and find their own food in the Costa Rican jungle all under the watchful eye of survival superstar Bear Grylls. One by one they’ll get kicked off somehow until three remain in the final and a Mission Survivor is crowned.

The title remains a bit embarrassing but the show might be fun. Alternatively The Million Pound Drop‘s on at 8pm.

Seems like they’ve dropped the common article, and now they’re just calling it “Million Pound
Drop”, giving the illusion of sleekness.

Incidentally, my campaign to have The Moon officially referred to as simply “Moon” continues to see little support. I dream of one day talking about how Neil Armstrong famously walked on Moon.

Format doormat: In “Miscommunicate”, the questions are put through a “Chinese whispers” system of 10 people, and every second person’s “whisper” is written down. The questions are then asked to contestants, starting with the most garbled version of the question for 5 points, and then getting less and less garbled for less points.

Ah damn, forgot about that show. Sam & Mark’s thing wasn’t it?

But the idea of chinese whispers could actually work for an app based show. The time it takes for a question or answers to be passed along could be used for players at home so log-in to each question (insted of thirty seconds of almost silence as it was on Rising Star and other app based shows lately). That’s finally a good way to use log-in time.

Should have pointed out the 10 whispering people would’ve been done beforehand like the Pointless surveyed 100. Although if you wanted app integration, doing it live would give you the opportunity. The Miscommuniapp

Quite enjoyed Mission Survive – feels a lot more natural than I’m a Celeb (and Survivor) and reality shows are so much better when participants actually have something to do, rather than spending the day sitting around waiting to be given something to do.

No general comment box posted recently, so thought I’d mention here the French version of Saturday Night Takeaway’s been axed by M6 after just two episodes.

Second one had 1.8m viewers – bizarre decision to schedule it on Wednesdays in the first place.
