What? Where? When?

By | April 9, 2017

IF you missed it on the Schlag den Star Watchalong on Saturday night, David Bodycombe set up a game of Что? Где? Когда?, the Russian show that became Million Dollar Mind Game in the US, where logical questions are clouded in euphemism. As promised here’s an edit. Who will win, the commentators or the viewers?

Thanks to everyone who submitted questions for this. We did get some that weren’t really in the right style, and I hope you didn’t mind any edits I made. If you watch the above video, hopefully you’ll get a better idea of what we’re looking for. They can’t be quiz questions, but neither can they be too puzzly as they only get 60 seconds.

We’ll be doing this again, so if you’d like to see your questions on the next edition, please email them to thelab@qwertyuiop.co.uk – thanks!

“As their loyalty is truly tested in one final twist, who will take home the cash?” – Does this mean it’s *another* prisoner dilemma final round…?

That wouldn’t be surprising since Endemol was pushing pretty hard the “success” of the daily French version at MIPTV.

That would be quite a not so good idea – ratings eroded quickly for TF1, it’s only averaging 3-3.2M viewers in the last few days (switch to daiylight saving time not helping) from 5.4M one month and an half ago. It’s quite repetitive, and even a huge win one week ago (250K€) is not helping them.

I enjoyed that a lot; thanks, gang! I also enjoyed picking my way through the broadcast for the Catchphrase (and Charity Shop Pop Catchphrase) questions as well, though Catchphrase would have inevitably been even better still had you not just gone “buzz” and properly gone beeeeEEEEEYYYYOIOIOIOIOINGNGNGNGNG! instead.

You, plural, are on a rich vein of form with CodeBreaker, de Brigste Mens and all manner of games. While Schlag den Star is proving such a PITA to stream, might I suggest Schlag den Star is quietly Schlagged off for a while in favour of more User-Generated Content Game Nights?

I wish I put De Brigste Mens on the trophy now.

I can’t see us giving up SdS in the near future because we quite like watching it, but when SdR ended that sort of thing was certainly mooted. There are plans for another Game Night once Brigste Mens is done next week, nut I’ve got a fairly special final planned which involves effort.
