Love is in the air

By | June 7, 2012

Just a heads up, US Take Me Out and The Choice begin on Thursday night on FOX. One is likely to be better than the other.

Take Me Out is a carbon copy of the UK show right down to the catchphrases, Buzzerblog are suggesting.

In other news, The Million Pound Drop has an app out for iOS (Android to come). I’ll give it the once over over the weekend.

Intresting choice of games that been removed this year.
Bobine, The dual Cannonball game (Which was used in algeria as a 1 team game) Dalphin, Curves (new in 2011(was kinda boring)) and Sisyphe (the one where u guide a ball into the hole)

Apprently Blizutage isnt gone this year (Alex would be happy to hear) but has been moved into the cell where dalphin was located next to balles de coton. The cabin is back but in bonneuteau cell and bonneuteau has been moved to where sacs and The rope pulling out of the window game is.

Bobine: Unsurprising, as they haven’t touched it for a looong while. Shame we’ll miss out on what is one of my favourite key game themes, though.

Bascule Magyar: Unsurprising. I think Boulets sur la Planche (BALL ON A PLANK!!) was removed last year so it was only a matter of time.

Dauphin: NOOO, that was one of my favourite ones 🙁

Cuves: Unsurprising. You couldn’t really see what was going on and it was a bit simple anyway.

Sisyphe: Also unsurprising, another one they haven’t touched since…uh…2008? Possibly 2009.

Bizutage change: I don’t think the room change would make that much of a difference. It’s roughly the same size, but at least now they have a reason to make the room look a bit nicer.

Bonneteau change: Surely the magician in it is supposed to be dark and mysterious, and having a larger room with a window in’s going to detract from that? Still, dress him up like Zorro again and I won’t complain.

Balls on a Plank was still used last year in foreign versions, ditto Sisyphus (both of which it was a shame they weren’t used in the French show because they were both good games).

I don’t mind the change of room for Bonneteau, especially if it means they can bring The Flight of the Key back at a later stage with minimum effort.

Actually I gather the old Sisyphus room is the new location for the old spiders and scorpions game for foreign countries.

Yup, apparently at the time of filming the old Blanche was in New York. Nobody has said why. Either way, it’s glad they kept her because it’s always nice to have another character who speaks.

Cellule interactive appears to have had a little retouch with a keypad on the outside for no explicable reason. It’s probably not going to be used, but still, it looks nice enough. (Actually, was that there last year? I don’t remember.)

I know there was some discussion on Twitter a couple of days back about Que le meilleur gagne coming back; turns out France 2 plan on sharing its 7pm slot in the coming months with a new run of N’oubliez pas les paroles (which must now be by far the longest-running version of the Lyrics format) and France’s only interpretation of Poker Face. Yes, the Ant and Dec one.

Le 4e duel is also being given another run this summer – so France 2 going quiz mad.

Most likely for Poker Face – since he’s already hosting “Lyrics” (well, the ratings are quite bad since Money Drop sucessfuly airs at the same timeslot on TF1 and the game feels quite the same after so much time airing on F2) and he will also host Que le Meilleur Gagne , twenty years after already hosting it on France 2 (and La Cinq in 1991 – before the channel went down) .

Also – Poker Face is only a project at the moment , nothing confirmed yet.

Oh and Fort boyard France this year is 11 episodes rather than 10 or 7 they usually do. Im guessing 3 of them will be shown elsewhere tho since they were filmed at night
